Thattvamai exists because finding the correct Indian government website is unreasonably hard, and because the gap between a citizen and the right portal has become a market for people who charge for things the government gives away free.

The problem we are trying to solve

Search for “Udyam registration” or “PAN card apply” and the first several results are frequently intermediaries charging several hundred rupees for a form that costs nothing on the official portal. Some are merely opportunistic. Others collect Aadhaar numbers and bank details from people who believe they are dealing with the government.

Everything on this site points at an official .gov.in or .nic.in domain, or at the handful of statutory bodies that use other endings. We state the official fee for every process, so you can tell immediately when you are being overcharged.

What we do

• Maintain a categorised directory of official central government portals and verified government social media accounts.
• Publish step-by-step guides written around the points where people actually get stuck.
• State the real government fee for each process, and name the free ones plainly.

What we never do

• We do not collect your documents, Aadhaar number, PAN, or bank details. There is no form on this site that asks for them.
• We do not process applications, and we cannot check your application status. Only the issuing department can.
• We do not charge for anything, and we do not accept payment for placing a link in the directory.
• We are not affiliated with the Government of India, and we do not claim to speak for it.

How this site is funded

Through advertising. Ads are served by third-party networks and are marked as advertisements. Advertisers have no influence over which portals we list, what our guides say, or how we rank anything. If an advertisement on this site ever appears to be impersonating a government service, tell us and we will block that advertiser.

Corrections

Government processes change constantly and we will sometimes be out of date. If you find a link that has moved, a fee that has changed, or a step that no longer exists, write to us at info@thattvamai.com. Corrections are made quickly and the update date on the page is changed. See our editorial policy for how we verify things.
